Notice anything different?
I kid, I kid. Obviously, something is very different. Addicted to Lovely got a little facelift.
Well, not so little. MAJOR. What do you think?!
I’m so in love with it. I’m sorry that the site was down for an entire week, but it was so worth it for how damn fabulous everything looks.
I’m honestly ecstatic about the relaunch, and I bet you’re wondering…Why the revamp?
The old Addicted to Lovely was fine. It was clean and simple, which I loved, but it just never really felt like me. I was using a theme I found on Etsy that I liked, but buying a theme from Easy isn’t personal at all. When I first started my blog, I didn’t want to invest in anything major until I figured out just how much I really liked the whole blogging thing. I just needed a place to write, and a theme that worked for the time being.
Over time, though, the blog became a much bigger part of my life than I anticipated. I’ve been posting at least 3 times a week for about 6 months, and I can’t imagine it any other way. It’s my favorite creative outlet. It keeps me inspired, motivated, and happy. And I’ve been able to connect with so many amazing people because of it.
The more time and energy I invested in the blog, the more it became a part of me, and the more I realized I needed it to really represent me. It deserved more love than a cheap Etsy theme. Hence, the makeover.
I’ve been thinking about my dream blog for awhile now, and I wanted to work with a web designer who was a perfectionist just like me. I hate letting other people do things for me, so putting my precious blog in the hands of someone else was very nerve-racking. I was worried someone would design my site according to what that person wanted instead of what I wanted, and that would be pointless.
It didn’t take me very long to decide that I needed the babes from Blog-Doo to create my site. First of all, Lauryn and Erica have some of the most fabulous blogs in the game. Second of all, I know they’re both perfectionist AF and don’t create anything sub-par. In short, I trust them.
They were so easy to work with, and they gave me exactly what I asked for. I was honestly shocked by the fact that it turned out exactly how I dreamed of the site in my head.
So, what’s new? A LOT. Obviously, new logo. Obsessed. The whole design is a lot more user-friendly than it was before. It’s much easier to find my older posts, which was something that bothered me BIG TIME before.
It’s also going to be way easier to get in touch with me. You can email me or use the form on the Contact page. You can also connect with me through social, and you can find all of that info in the upper right corner of every page, and in the sidebar. YAAAS.
Also, my favorite new thing. ASK CHRISTINA. Basically, you can ask whatever you want (it’s anonymous), and my response will go right there. Fun fun fun! I definitely stole this from Lauryn because I love stalking her “Ask Lauryn” page. You can ask a question, ask for a recommendation, say hi, make a suggestion, whatever. I think it’s a nice way to spice things up. I love hearing from you so, so much, and I really want to know what you guys want from me, what you like, and what I can help with. Plus, a lot of people message me the same Q’s, so I thought this would be an easy way for everyone to see my answers.
I’m also going to start sending out newsletters to let you know what’s up. You know, just a lil’ update on what’s been going on, what I’ve been posting, and what I’ve been into lately. And before you get nervous, don’t worry – I definitely will NOT spam you. You’ll get emails maybe once or twice a month. So if you’re interested in staying up-to-date on all things ATL, join the newsletter tribe by typing in your email on the right side of the page!
There’s also a link to the Actually Adultish podcast at the top, OF COURSE. If you haven’t listened yet, what are you doing?! Joking, but not really. Podcasts are so fun to listen to. They’re a great way to pass the time and be productive while you’re doing boring things like driving and cleaning and cooking. Besides, don’t you want to know what my voice actually sounds like? If you like the show, you should definitely subscribe so you never miss a new episode!
I also added a new “Shop” link at the top of the page that will take you directly to Beautycounter so you can shop for SAFE personal care products. I am so passionate about clean beauty, which is why I started working with Beautycounter to begin with. If you want to read the full story about why I’m switching to safer skincare and makeup, click here. And read this if you want to know what my favorite products are! If you have any questions about Beautycounter or safe beauty, if you’re interested in becoming a Consultant or Band of Beauty member, or if you want to throw a social (we can do it online, and you get free products!), then don’t hesitate to reach out to me. I’m your girl. 😉
With my college career finally coming to a close in the next few months, a lot of things are going to change in my life. In a good way. The blog revamp is just the beginning of a bunch of new, positive changes that are about to happen, and I’m so excited. I feel like things are finally settling in place. I have a ton of great content lined up to go along with the new Addicted to Lovely, and I think you’re gonna dig it.
I really hope you love the makeover as much as I do. It feels so much more me, and I couldn’t have asked for anything better. HUGE thanks to Erica and Lauryn and the rest of the badass babes at Blog-Doo for creating my dream site! And thanks to you, seriously, for reading this. It means the world to me. XO
